MARQUIS' History The
Hotel Marquis is owned by an authentic Marquis whose family's roots can be traced
back in the 12th century. Gérard de Vion, Marquis de Gaillon, fell in
love with the Caribbean during a cruise in 1975. Since that day, he has gone
back to these islands as often as possible, in 1992, he discovered the Marcel
Cove. A Place that has been worshipped by the Arawak Indians, who came
there to adore their gods. Gerard de Vion, then decided to create a
small Deluxe hotel there, willing to let some select few enjoy the magic of the
place, located on top of a hill overlooking a marvelous bay.

Everything there inspires
quietude and peace. As an aesthete and epicurean man, the Marquis enjoys
hosting.

In France, he lives in the Bordeaux area in a small
18th century castle surrounded by vineyards, and his purpose for this hotel is
to welcome guests just as he would welcome them in his castle. His Saint
Emilion Grand Cru wine as well as a few other excellent Bordeaux wines may be
tasted at the hotel. Moreover, he has selected hotel staff members for whom conviviality
has a true meaning. Indeed, the Hotel Marquis staff is dedicated to
high service. Making guests fell not in a hotel, but as if staying in
a private house.
